ChatSEO pricing: Starter, Pro, Ranker and what a message costs

I have no affiliate link to ChatSEO. Its program pays affiliates 30% for life, and I didn’t join it. I’m an affiliate of SemChat, a direct competitor, and I’m telling you up front. Every price below comes from ChatSEO’s official pages, read on 29 October 2026. I didn’t test ChatSEO in an account. Its help center is in French; the quotes from it are my translations.

ChatSEO pricing as of 29 October 2026: Starter, Pro, Ranker and Agency

ChatSEO sells four plans. The first three have a public price; the fourth is quoted on request.

What each ChatSEO plan actually gets you

Starter is pitched at solo founders who are new to SEO. You get Search Console, your Google Business Profile, market data, the 12 SEO agents, backlink analysis, weekly SEO reports, the AI writer and the CMS connection.

Pro is for founders and consultants who want to move faster. It adds Google Analytics 4, 3 sites, 3 members (owner included), API and MCP access, and early access to new features. The pricing page gives it a badge saying 76% of customers choose Pro.

Ranker is for agencies and multi-site operators: 10 sites, 5 members, white-label exports, priority support and a dedicated onboarding call.

Agency is negotiated with the team: custom credits, sites and members. The help center says the offer starts at €200 a month.

Monthly or yearly: the discount for paying the year

Paying for the year takes 20% off. Over 12 months that’s €278.40 for Starter, €470.40 for Pro and €758.40 for Ranker. The pricing page doesn’t show those totals: I worked them out from the monthly prices, and only the Ranker total appears, in the affiliate programme FAQ.

ChatSEO’s pricing file says it plainly: “Prices excl. VAT, in EUR (same amounts in USD).” So Starter is $29 a month before any sales tax. You pay by card or PayPal, through Stripe.

Tax is added at checkout. The help center lists the rules for Europe: French VAT for a French business, the VAT of your country if you buy as an individual, and 0% under reverse charge for an EU business outside France with a valid VAT number. What every plan includes, even Starter

Some things don’t depend on the tier. The 12 SEO agents are in every plan: internal linking, local SEO with your Google Business Profile, structured data, indexing audit, link finding, and a GEO agent that works on getting you cited by AI tools. Weekly SEO reports are also in every plan. For a first plan, that’s generous.

How ChatSEO credits work: one credit, one message

“1 credit = 1 message sent.” That’s the rule on the pricing page. It’s the simplest quota I’ve read on an SEO tool, and also the bluntest.

A simple question costs the same as a full audit

A one-line question costs 1 credit. A request that runs five tools in a row also costs 1 credit. Good news for big questions; less so if you think by chatting. Ask, follow up, ask for a detail: that’s three credits. With 100 credits on Starter, a few questions per working day use up the month.

Extra ChatSEO credits, sold in tiers

Each plan has a menu to add credits in steps of 50, for €10 more a month per step:

• Starter: 100 credits, up to 350 credits for €79 a month.
• Pro: 200 credits, up to 450 credits for €99 a month.
• Ranker: 400 credits, up to 650 credits for €129 a month.

And unused credits? Here the official pages disagree. The terms of sale, the pricing page and the help center allow a rollover of up to one month’s allocation. The terms of use, dated the same day, say credits don’t roll over from one billing period to the next. On a yearly plan, you get 12 months of credits at once, with no rollover. If you cancel, the help center says your credits stay for 60 days.

What the ChatSEO Starter plan leaves out: GA4, team, API and MCP

Starter connects 1 site, for 1 user. It has no Google Analytics 4, no team and no API or MCP access. That last one hurts, because the MCP server is ChatSEO’s most original feature: it lets you drive the tool from Claude, ChatGPT or Cursor, with 38 tools. You need Pro at €49 a month.

The ChatSEO free trial: a card, a few credits and a refund window

The trial runs 7 days with 30 credits, on the plan and tier of your choice. Your card is saved with Stripe from the start. You get a reminder at least 3 days before the first charge, and you can cancel before then at no cost (pricing page, terms of sale section 4.4). One trial per organisation and per user; trial credits don’t roll over.

No free plan once the trial ends

The help center states there’s no free plan with credits given at sign-up. Watch out for other pages, though. The home page and the MCP page talk about starting free or with no credit card. On 29 October 2026, the pricing page and the help center said the opposite.

Cancelling before the first charge, and the seven-day refund

If you forget to cancel, there’s a safety net: a full refund on request within 7 days after the first charge, monthly or yearly. It works once per customer; later renewals aren’t refunded. You can also pause a plan for 1 to 3 months instead of cancelling.

ChatSEO’s own promo code, published in its help center

ChatSEO publishes the code FIN10 in its own help center: 10% off your first payment, valid only before any paid invoice. Affiliate codes found elsewhere also give 10% on the first payment. I don’t have a ChatSEO code of my own.

Which ChatSEO plan fits a solo founder, a consultant or an agency

Solo founder, one site, a few questions a week: Starter. You’ll miss GA4, but Search Console is the heart of it.

Consultant, or founder who lives in Claude: Pro. GA4, MCP access and 3 sites justify the extra €20 a month.

Agency with up to 10 client sites: Ranker, for white-label exports and 5 members. Beyond that, ask for an Agency quote.

Whatever the plan, count your messages before you choose the tier. A plan you run dry on the 10th of the month costs more, in practice, than the next tier up.

What SemChat costs next to ChatSEO: €0, then €20 a month

SemChat makes the same promise and prices it another way. Its pricing page says: “Every feature, in every plan. Just pick your monthly usage.” Free is €0, with this line: “Try semchat with no credit card.” Then Starter costs €20 a month, Pro 5x €100 and Pro 20x €200. Our first invoice was €24 including VAT, so those are pre-tax prices too. Missing data: SemChat’s prices in US dollars (planned source: the pricing page read from the United States).

The catch: SemChat’s quota is measured in tokens and shown as a percentage, not a message count. On 29 October 2026, one full SEO audit of plugkit-avis.com used 100% of the Free plan’s monthly quota.
