Privacy policy
This privacy policy describes what the Zéro Corvée site stores in your browser, what it loads from third-party services and when, and how to exercise your rights. It describes the site as it works on October 30, 2026.
Data controller
The data controller is the site’s publisher: Jérémy Santos, sole proprietor, trade name OcciRank, 22 rue Mérigonde, 81100 Castres, France. His other contact details are in the legal notice.
- Contact for personal data: [email protected]
What the site stores in your browser
zc-lang(site cookie): remembers the language you chose, only after you click a language (language switcher or the banner that offers a translation). It finds that language again on your next visit: the language choice on the home page highlights it, and the translation banner offers it on other pages. Duration: 1 year.zc-lang-suggest(sessionStorage): remembers that you closed the translation banner with “Not now”. Duration: the visit, erased when the tab is closed.
zc-consent(site cookie): remembers your answer in the analytics banner (accept or refuse). Duration: 6 months, after which the banner is shown again.- Only with your consent: the analytics cookies described below (
_ga,_ga_<id>,_clck,_clsk).
What the site itself stores only serves to remember a choice you made; it can’t be used to follow you on other sites. The site has no form and asks for no data (name, email address or anything else). Its fonts are served by the site itself, with no call to an external font service.
Analytics
The site measures its audience with two tools, loaded only after you click “Accept” in the banner shown on your first visit. “Refuse” has the same place and the same weight. As long as you haven’t answered, neither tool is loaded.
- Google Analytics 4, loaded by Google Tag Manager: page views, the page you came from, device and browser type, approximate area, and clicks on the site’s buttons. A click on an affiliate link to SemChat or Haloscan sends the
affiliate_clickevent, with the program concerned; a click to the course sendsformation_clickorformation_signup_click. Each event carries the button’s identifier, its position, the page type and the language. Cookies:_gaand_ga_<id>, which hold a random browser identifier. Duration: 390 days (under 13 months), counted from the first visit and not extended by later visits; set in Google Tag Manager (Google’s default is 2 years, extended on each visit). Data retention in Google Analytics: 14 months, not extended by a new visit. - Microsoft Clarity: clicks, scrolling and movement on the page, to find the passages where reading gets stuck. The content of input fields is masked. Session recordings are kept for 30 days; those marked as favorites and a random sample are kept for up to 9 months. Cookies:
_clckand_clskon the site’s domain; Microsoft also lists cookies on its own domains (CLID,ANONCHK,MR,MUID,SM). Lifetime on the site’s domain, read in the browser on October 30, 2026 (Microsoft’s documentation doesn’t give it): 1 year for_clck, 1 day for_clsk.
None of these measurements is used for advertising: for both Google and Microsoft, the site declares advertising storage refused, even after “Accept”.
Withdrawing consent: the “Manage cookies” button, at the bottom of every page, reopens the banner. Clicking “Refuse” erases the analytics cookies set on the site’s domain (_ga, _ga_<id>, _clck, _clsk), tells Google Analytics and Clarity consent was withdrawn, then reloads the page without either tool. Cookies Microsoft sets on its own domains can’t be erased by the site: you remove them in your browser settings.
Links to SemChat and Haloscan
Buttons to SemChat go through an address on the site (for example /go/semchat/en/), which redirects to semchat.io with the publisher’s referral code. The Zéro Corvée site stores nothing in your browser during this redirect. As with any link you follow, your browser may tell the site you visit which site you came from (Referer header, depending on its settings).
Once on semchat.io, SemChat keeps the referral code from the first click, in a 30-day cookie (terms of its affiliate program, read on October 29, 2026). These operations take place on SemChat’s and Haloscan’s sites, and fall under their own privacy policies.
Language choice on arrival
The root address serves the English version; French has its own folder (/fr/). The language choice offered at the root address is a plain list: the site never redirects you based on your browser, your country or your IP address. Your browser’s language, or the language you chose (zc-lang cookie), is only used to highlight that language in the list and, on other pages, to offer the translation in a banner when it exists. These checks happen in your browser during the visit; the site records none of this information.
Hosting and technical logs
- Host: Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages), 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States
To serve the pages, Cloudflare’s network processes technical connection data: IP address, page requested, date and time, browser type. For this data, Cloudflare acts on behalf of the publisher (processor). Log retention period: Cloudflare doesn’t publish a set figure; its privacy policy (effective November 4, 2025, read on October 31, 2026) keeps them as long as their purposes require, then deletes them. The publisher neither exports nor keeps any of these logs (no export set up in its Cloudflare account, checked on October 31, 2026).
Transfers outside the European Union
Google (analytics), Microsoft (Clarity) and Cloudflare (hosting) are companies based in the United States: data may be processed there.
These companies state that they adhere to the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission recognized in its adequacy decision of July 10, 2023.
Legal bases
- Analytics: your consent (article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR, and article 82 of the French Data Protection Act).
- Language cookie (
zc-lang) and session flag (zc-lang-suggest): they only remember a choice you asked for and are strictly necessary for that service; they don’t require consent (article 82 of the French Data Protection Act). - Host’s technical logs: the publisher’s legitimate interest in keeping the site secure and working (article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR).
- Banner answer cookie (
zc-consent): strictly necessary to respect the answer you gave in the banner; it doesn’t require consent (article 82 of the French Data Protection Act).
Your rights
Anyone whose data is processed has the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and, where it applies, portability. Consent you gave can be withdrawn at any time.
You exercise these rights with the publisher, at [email protected]. For data processed by SemChat or Haloscan on their own services, you exercise them with their publisher.
You can lodge a complaint with the French data protection authority (CNIL).
Changes
This policy describes the site on October 30, 2026. It is updated whenever what the site loads or stores changes.
